I really like Lauren Fleshman. Pro-runner, entrepreneur, mom, wife, friend, blah blah blah. She is very poignant and honest in her blog posts, interviews, and media sayings, making herself vulnerable and really putting it out on the table. She recently posted something about #keepingitreal for people (see article here) that was part of the domino effect of this other post that had kind of gone viral. She posted some fancy modeling pictures and then put up some "real life" pictures. She had a baby 4? months before the modeling and her pictures showed what it looks like when you aren't all made-up and tanned and etc. It was awesome that she was so willing to put it all out there. I won't bore you with all of the details, but her challenge to people is to appreciate your body for all that it does, rather than what it looks like, telling people to post unflattering pictures (and hey, runners are GREAT at taking unflattering pictures - if you look like photogenic guy when you're running, you aren't going fast enough) on social media with the hashtag, "keepingitreal", so that we can all see "real" people and the truth behind what the 99% of the world who aren't models look like (aka beautiful!). You might think that you look and feel like shit, but your body is still chugging through.
